   Idol worship, which is very common amongst the Hindus, is prohibited in Hinduism.

 *Yajurveda Chapter 40 verse 9*  

“They enter darkness those who worship natural things
(for e.g. air, water, fire, etc.).

"वे अंधेरे में प्रवेश करते हैं जो प्राकृतिक चीजों की पूजा करते हैं
(उदाहरण के लिए हवा, पानी, आग, आदि)।

ve andhere mein pravesh karate hain jo praakrtik cheejon kee pooja karate hain

(Example hava, paanee, aag, aadi).

They sink deeper in darkness those who worship sambhuti i.e. created things
(for e.g. table, chair, car, idol etc.)

वे अंधेरे में गहरे डूबते हैं जो संभूति की पूजा करते हैं यानी चीजों को बनाते हैं

(उदाहरण के लिए टेबल, कुर्सी, कार, मूर्ति आदि)

ve andhere mein gahare doobate hain jo sambhooti kee pooja karate hain yaanee cheejon ko banaate hain

(udaaharan ke lie tebal, kursee, kaar, moorti )
