Verse 15

2:15 Al-Baqarah

Allāh mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression [while] they wander blindly (Al-Baqarah 2:15)

Surah Baqarah Verse 15

🍀Mockery, in the words of the Arabs, is the mocker manifesting to the mocked what openly agrees with him in terms of statements or actions. Our Lord has made rules in this world for the people of hypocrisy, based on what they make evident with their tongues - in attesting to Allāh, His Messenger and what he brought from His Lord. In addition to this, Allāh has prepared for them an painful punishment – even afflicting them in the lowest pitfalls (of the Fire). In doing so, He is mocking them, ridiculing them, deceiving them, and plotting against them.

🍀As for His saying, “prolongs them in their transgression” then this refers to His increasing (their freedom by) allowing them to get carried away, and leaving them in their tyranny and rebellion.

🍀Ṭuġyān (transgression) is going beyond limits and injustice, meaning Allāh fills them and increases them in their misguidance and disbelief, bewildered and confused. They hesitate in their disbelief and misguidance - whose impurity has engulfed them, and whose filth has become lofty over them – hesitating and bewildered, misguided, never going into the light of īmān. This is because Allāh has impressed upon their hearts and sealed them, blinding their vision from guidance, and covering it so that they cannot see the right guidance nor find the right way.

🍀In this noble āyah is evidence of Allāh’s defence of His Messenger and the believers, for Allāh has appointed the punishment of the mockers in the worldly life and in the hereafter.

🔮Whoever mocks his brother, for a sin repented from, will not die till he himself falls into the same

💎 I ask Allah to keep us away from all types of mockery, Aameen

Surah Al-Baqarah
Verse 14

2:14 Al-Baqarah

And when they meet those who believe, they said, "We believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers"
Tafseer Surah Baqarah, Surah Baqarah explanation in English, Surah Baqara 14, Surah Baqarah in English Translation, Tafseer Quran, bararah Ayah explain
Surah Baqarah Verse 14

☘️In this ayah there is evidence of the third trait of the hypocrites, and it is their ability to take on different colors in accordance to what benefits them in this world.

🍀 And when they meet those who believe, they said, "We believe.” What is meant by (those) who believe is imam, which is belief in Allāh and all that was brought by the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ). When the hypocrites used to see the believers, they said, “We believe” – meaning they displayed to them publicly that they are with them, while concealing what is opposite to this in secret. They said this out of hypocrisy and deceit – and in order to share with them in what they gained from goodness and spoils.

☘️But when they are alone with their shayatian.  They say, "Indeed, we are with you” – meaning in religion and conviction. As in, “We are with you – upon your religion, your supporters against those who differ with you in it, and your allies instead of the Companions of Muḥammad. Indeed we are mockers of Allāh, His Book, His Messenger, and his Companions. They addressed the believers with a verbal sentence (آمَنَّا – āmannā, meaning, “We believe.”), but as for their address to their shayāṭīn, then with a confirmed nominal sentence (إِنَّ – inna, meaning: Truly, verily, indeed, etc.).

🍀 "We were only mockers”: This was said affirming what was mentioned before, because the one who mocks insists upon the opposite. Whoever scorns the religion magnifies disbelief. They implied: We were only mockers of Muḥammad, his Companions, and in what is apparent from Islām in order to safeguard ourselves from their evil, hurl their secrets, and take from their spoils; and this is a subdivision of what came before. Ruling that they are mockers entails a ruling that they do not believe, because whoever believes in something would not mock it. They have transgressed the boundaries of disbelief as far as possible, and deserve the lowest depths of the Fire.

🍀 In this noble āyah is (also) a glimpse into the fact that the hypocrites evade meeting the believers, for if they meet them, they say their false statements, whereas if they sit with their shayāṭīn, then it is a desirable gathering. This is understood from (the words used): laqū (لَقُوا – meet), and khalaw (خَلَوْا – are alone with).

Verse 13

He (the Most-High) said:

 ﴿ وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ آمِنُوا كَمَا آمَنَ النَّاسُ قَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ كَمَا آمَنَ السُّفَهَاءُ أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ السُّفَهَاءُ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴾

📜 And when it is said to them, "Believe as the people have believed," they say, "Should we believe as the foolish have believed?" Unquestionably, it is they who are the foolish, but they know [it] not (Al-Baqarah 2:13)
Tafseer Surah Baqarah, Surah Baqarah explanation in English, Surah Baqara 13, Surah Baqarah in English Translation, Tafseer Quran, bararahAyah explain
Surah Baqarah Verse 13

📚Meaning: If the Messenger or the believers said to them, “Believe” – in other words, complete your īmān by having true belief along with deeds you’ve forsaken – which are righteous deeds – just as the people you know from the people of īmān and certainty have believed, meaning the Ṣaḥābah. The alif (ا) and lām (ل) in al-nās (النَّاس – the people, using the definite article), implying those with complete humanity (who) act according to what Allāh has gifted them from mobility and reason, acting according to the purifying legislations that have come to protect the welfare of humankind, and repel from them evil and harm. Meaning: believe like the belief of the Ṣaḥābah, for in truth, they are the ones who are complete.

📚 And the answer of the munāfiqīn was, “Should we believe as the foolish have believed?” This is from their tyranny and arrogance. Sufahā’ (foolish) is the plural (in Arabic) for safīh (fool), and the fool is the one who is weak in opinion, ignorant, with little knowledge concerning benefit and harm.

📚 Foolishness is feeble and absurd opinions dictated by a lack of reason. This is how wicked people describe the people of goodness, with evil descriptions to camouflage their own faults.

📚 This noble āyah contains a diversion for the Messenger, scholars, and callers (to Islām) in order to be patient with that which they face in their calling to Allāh.

📚 So the meaning of the āyah is: If it is said to the munāfiqīn, “Believe in that which was revealed to the Prophet (), and act according to that which you believe in and what has come down from the two revelations (i.e., the Qur’ān and the sunnah),” they said, “Should we believe in that which the ignorant believe?” So then Allāh controverted them and judged them to be the ignorant ones in reality.

📚 This is because the ignorant is called foolish, since he loses whatever he thinks he has memorized. Similarly, the munāfiq disobeys his Lord in whatever he sees himself as being obedient to Him in, and (in actuality) disbelieves in whatever he thinks he is believing in.

📚 And the statement of the hypocrites, “Should we believe as the foolish have believed?” then they used to say this in concealment and mockery.

📚 Allāh allowed His Prophet and the believers to be aware of this, and true foolishness lies within the hypocrites, those who did not establish sincerity with their Lord, so there will be no salvation for them from the punishment of Allāh.

📚 And Allāh refuted them with His statement: Unquestionably, it is they who are the foolish, but they know [it] not. Meaning, due to their complete ignorance, they do not know their state of misguidance and ignorance; increasing their ignorance and incursion into evil, while distancing them from the guidance.

📚 The previous āyah concluded with: “But they perceive [it] not,” and this āyah with, “but they know [it] not.” Corruption on the earth is a physical matter that humankind perceives with his senses and feelings. As for foolishness, then it is a non-physical matter, whose effects are perceived by humankind after looking and reflecting on thoughts; so knowledge appropriates to it.

📚 This noble āyah, and the one before it, gathers what is incumbent upon every Muslim to do, for completeness of īmān comes with the combination of the two matters:

☀️ Firstly: Turning away from all that is obligated to turn away from, and this is what is implied with His statement: “Do not cause corruption.”

☀️ Secondly: Fulfilling that which is obligated to perform. This is what is being sought with His statement: “Believe.”

🔮Reflection/Ponder Point

Allah SWT started with the prohibition against misdeeds and (acts of) disobedience.

Then He followed this with the command to believe to return to him, to residence in everlasting bliss.

Repelling corruption takes precedence over bringing about benefit.

Salvation comes with being saved from that which is forbidden/frightening and attaining what is demanded.

Surah Al-Baqarah
Verse 12

He (the Most-High) said:

 ﴿ أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَكِنْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ﴾

📜 Unquestionably, truly it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive [it] not (Al-Baqarah 2:12)

📚 In this noble āyah, we find a refutation against the claims of the munāfiqīn (hypocrites) and a rebuttal against them. They were commanded to obey Allāh, but they did not. And they were prohibited from disobeying him, but they did not desist. Despite this, they claimed they were reformers.
Tafseer Surah Baqarah, Surah Baqarah explanation in English, Surah Baqara 12, Surah Baqarah in English Translation, Tafseer Quran, bararahAyah explain
Surah Baqarah Verse 12

📚 So Allāh (the Mighty and Majestic) refuted them and exposed the reality of their condition, in that they are corruptors on the earth - which Allāh made fitting for uprightness and betterment, they have transgressed the boundaries of Allāh, and they commit sins - intensely embarking upon them.

📚 Alā (أَلَا - unquestionably) is an opener and word of caution. A caution does not come unless it is regarding an unfamiliar matter. Our Lord cautioned the believers and made them aware of (the hypocrites’) hypocrisy and corruption on the earth.

📚 The second affirmation came with hum (هُم - they). This āyah, despite its brevity in words, encompasses a number of emphasizing points. Of them, the opener, the caution, the affirmation with inna (إِنَّ – truly) and the separating pronoun hum (هُمُ – they), and in the identification of the predicate – a continuance that leads to an increased exactness of the rule in the mind of the hearer. And He used the definite article (ال - the), which makes evident the reality of the corruption.

📚 And in His saying, “But they perceive [it] not,” is a caution to man - who is prone to forgetfulness: Not everything that appeals to the self is correct; rather a person is guided by the Qur’ān and the sunnah.

📚 The hypocrites used to cause corruption, but they were not aware they were corrupting their worldly life and their life in the hereafter.

📚 Awareness is (based on a) physical, psychological, and mental (understanding) of the errors in what they do. In it is a warning, that evil has rooted itself deeply within the hypocrites, to the point where they are not even aware they have delved into it.

☀️ In times of emotional distress, do we do what appeals to us or follow The Quran and Sunnah?

2:11 Al-Baqarah

And when it is said to them, "Do not cause corruption on the earth," they said, "We are but reformers"

📚Do not cause corruption: Meaning with disbelief, calumniation, causing evil, and other than that.

Tafseer Surah Baqarah, Surah Baqarah explanation in English, Surah Baqara 11, Surah Baqarah in English Translation, Tafseer Quran, bararahAyah explain
Surah Baqarah Verse 11

☘️Meaning do not disobey on the earth. Their corruption was disobedience to Allāh, for whoever disobeys Allāh on the earth, or commands disobedience to Allāh, then he has caused corruption on the earth, because uprightness of the earth and the heavens is in obedience.

📚Fasād (corruption) is removing a matter from a state of integrity and it being beneficial.

☘️The corruption of the hypocrites was on the earth; they used to sympathize with the disbelievers and sympathize with them against the Muslims by revealing their secrets to them, and tempting (the disbelievers) against them. This is what leads to the agitation of sedition between them. So when it was this doing of theirs that led to corruption, it was said to them, “Do not cause corruption” – for one of the forms of corruption is believers taking disbelievers as their allies.

📚They said, “We are but reformers.” They combined between causing corruption on the earth and showing that it is not corruption - rather it is uprightness, inverting reality with their words - and between doing illicit deeds believing it to be true. This is a greater offence than someone who performs an act of disobedience, while believing it to be an act of disobedience.

☘️Disobedient deeds on the earth is corruption, because it includes corruption of what is on the face of the earth from good things, grains, fruits, trees, and plants in what befalls them from pests due to disobedience, and because reform on the earth (takes place) by living in obedience to Allāh and having faith in Him. For this reason, Allāh created creation and placed them on the earth, gave them provisions to help them in being obedient to Him, worshipping Him, and implementing His legislation. If one acted on (the earth) opposite to this, then they are walking within it (causing) corruption, and ruining the purpose of why it was created for them.

Surah Al-Baqarah
Verse 10

BITESIZE TAFSIR

Disease' here refers to the disease of hypocrisy. The statement that 'Allah has intensified this disease' means that He does not punish the hypocrites immediately but allows them to indulge in their hypocrisy and exult in the success of their ruses. This feeling of success intensifies their hypocrisy.
Surah Baqarah Verse 10, Sura baqrah tafseer, surah baqarah verse 10 meaning
Surah Baqarah Verse 10

2:10 Al-Baqarah

In their hearts is disease, so Allāh has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie.

📥 The Meaning of `Disease' in this Ayah

🍀This āyah makes clear the evil qualities of the hypocrites, so that they are known by it, and so that Muslims beware from imitating them.

Furthermore, it gives reason as to why they act deceptively; in their hearts is a defect that increased until it reached the point of evil.

📚In their hearts is disease: Meaning doubt, hypocrisy, resentment, and jealousy.

The disease is due to their subsidence with the dunyā and heedlessness concerning the ākhirah.

📚In the Noble Qur’ān, the believers were called aḥyā (أَحْيَاء - living), because they benefitted from life by doing righteous deeds and so they became triumphant with eternal life in the ākhirah And the kuffār (disbelievers) were called amwāt (أَموَاتًا – dead), because they did not benefit from their lives, nor will they attain eternal life.

📚So Allāh has increased their disease: Meaning, they doubted the Quran, just as they doubted the other books before it. This doudt has just increased

📚And for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie. Lying is information about a matter that differs from what it actually is, and it is all prohibited.

📚 Indeed, hypocrites have two features:

Disbelief, which Allāh has threatened the one who falls into it with a great punishment

Lying, which Allāh has threatened the one who commits it with a severe torment.

📚Allāh made evident that the punishment of the ākhirah is excruciating, because the punishment of the dunyā may have no pain associated with it.

Allāh (the Mighty and Majestic) informs (us) that the punishment of the ākhirah is an extremely severe punishment, not like the punishment of the dunyā.

🔮 REFLECTION/PONDER

☀️ Ask Yourselve: Does my behaviour/attitude change with the company of people?

📥 If the answer is "Yes" then we need to seek tawbah and ask Allah swt to remove hypocrisy from our hearts. In order to cleanse our hearts from any disease of  heart, we should actively seek knowledge of deen. Only knowledge of Quran can remove doubts from our hearts and make our desires subservient to the pleasure of Allah swt.

📮 Moreover, it is very important to know that lying is a major sin and there is a painful punishment for the liars in the Hereafter. We should keep in mind that even casual joking and exaggeration are also considered as lies.

💎 According to a hadith of Prophet saw, a believer can be miser, a believer can be a coward but he/she can never be a liar. Breaking promises and betraying trusts are also characteristics of hypocrites according to another hadith.

🙏🏻 May Allah forgive us and cleanse our hearts from all the diseases of heart, Ameen!

Surah Al-Baqarah

Verse 9

2:9 Al-Baqarah

They [think to] deceive Allāh and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not

Surah Baqarah Verse 9
Surah Baqarah Verse 9

📚Khidāˋ (خِدَاع - deception) is bringing someone from the state that he is in - with an objective - by means of displaying a matter that is opposite to what is concealed.

🍀No one intends to deceive Allāh, however, they intended to deceive the believers. Allāh is not in need of support, but it is as if He said, “If you support those under the custodianship of Allāh, He will support you.”

☘️His saying: But they deceive not except themselves – means the totality of their deception, and the consequences of it, comes back to them. And perceive it not – means they do not realize that their whole deception returns against them in this dunyā and the ākhirah. In this is evidence of their inattentiveness and stupidity, for He said: But they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not.

📚Anfus (selves) is the plural of nafs (self), means the essence of something and its reality. It is used to refer to the delicate essence, which has senses, moves, and perceives.

📚Yashˋarūn (يَشْعُرُون) is the (plural) present-tense form of shaˋara (شَعَرَ). With regard to a matter, it is said shaˋara if he became aware of it. And from it, the shāˋir (poet) is called a shāˋir, because he is aware of that which others are not aware of, from the extrinsic meanings and finesse (of words).

📚And shuˋūr (شُعُور) is the sum of knowledge from the senses; from it comes the mashāˋir (مَشَاعِر) of the human, meaning his abilities to sense.

☘️So these hypocrites do not deceive Allāh, because of His knowledge of what they conceal, nor do they deceive the believers, because Allāh repels from them the harm of the hypocrites’ deception. In fact, they deceive themselves, because the harm of the deception goes back to them, though they do not realize this. This is because the darkness of the enticement contaminated their hearts, making them numb, and devoid of sense.

REFLECTION/PONDER

Ayah 9:

They (think) to deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive (it) not.

In the company of the believers, the hypocrites would pretend to be pious and true Muslims, but as soon as they were asked to make a sacrifice for the sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala (such as performing an act of worship, giving charity, or going on Jihad) they would find it difficult. They thought since nobody knows their internal feelings they are deceiving the Muslims, but in reality they were only deceiving themselves. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala knows what the hearts conceal.

☀️ What does your heart conceal?

☀️Does your tongue reflect what is in your heart?

🙏🏻 "O Allah, You are who You are, and I am who I am; You are the One who keeps forgiving, and I am the one who keeps sinning, so forgive me!”

🔮 FURTHER PONDER

So who are the hypocrites? From their tongues they confess their belief in Allah and in the Hereafter; however, their deeds do not reflect their words. They are in an entirely opposite direction. They think they are deceiving Allah yet they are deceiving none except themselves.

☀️ Can anyone deceive Allah?

☀️ How can we deceive Him when we will eventually return to Him?

Therefore, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says, “In their hearts is a disease.” A person with a diseased heart will never have inner peace.

Surah Al-Baqarah
Verse 8

And of the people are some who say, "we believe in Allah SWT and the Last Day" but they are not believers.

☘️In a special period, Islam was faced with a specific group among the whole of the people, who neither had the courage to truly accept the invitation of Islam, nor had the power and boldness to openly oppose it. This third group, are called hypocrites.

☘️ The revelations about the characteristics of the hypocrites were revealed in Madina, this is because there were no hypocrites in Makkah. Rather, the opposite was the situation in Makkah.
Surah Baqarah Verse 8
Surah Baqarah Verse 8

☘️In Makkah, the believers had to hide their faith to protect themselves from the persecution of the strong disbelievers. Afterward, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ migrated to Madinah, where the Ansar [Residents of Madina] from the tribes of Aws and Khazraj resided. They used to worship idols during the pre-Islamic period of ignorance, just as the rest of the Arab idolators.

☘️ Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala revealed the characteristics of the hypocrites, so that the believers would not be deceived by their outer appearance, thus saving the believers from a great evil. Otherwise, the believers might think that the hypocrites were believers when in reality they are disbelievers. To consider the sinners as righteous people is extremely dangerous.

🔑 Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala dislikes self-contradiction. He knows everything that is inside the hearts and how we act. We should have a check and balance on ourselves.

🔑Many people accepted Islam for the worldly benefits. After they saw the success of Muslims in Madina, they desired a share of it.

☀️Do you have any doubts in your heart about Islam?

☀️Does your heart desire what Islam permits?

☀️Do your actions reflect the teaching of Islam?

EXPLANATION & LESSONS
Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 6-7

📮Before starting this lesson, it is important to mention, that previous ayaat were about qualities of pure believers…now Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala is describing attributes of pure disbelievers.

📜Ayat 6:

“Indeed, those who disbelieve – it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them – they will not believe.”
Surah Baqarah Verse 6
Surah Baqarah Verse 6

Surah Baqarah Verse 7
Surah Baqarah Verse 7

Surah Baqarah Verse 6-7 explanation
Surah Baqarah Verse 6-7 explanation

☘️Kafaroo [كَفَرُواْ] means to refuse or reject. In Arabic kafir means a person to whom everything is hidden, like the word “night” is also used for a person for whom everything is hidden. This ayah shows the reality of people who refused Muhammad ﷺand his message.  Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala said, it does not matter if you (O Muhammad) warn them or not, they would still have disbelieved in what you were sent with.

☘️Out of his genuine concern for his people, the Prophet ﷺ ardently desired guidance for them. He was worried about them and tried his best to reverse their lives. The ayah addresses the Prophet ﷺ that no matter what you do they will not believe whether you warn them or not.

☘️Muhammad ﷺ was the prophet for all mankind. Calling people towards guidance requires love and affection such that people are attracted by your behavior. So, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala told the Prophet ﷺ to not feel sorry for the people who do not heed. It is not his fault and there will be no blame on him. It is their bad luck that they didn’t pay attention.

📖In Surah Ar-Ra’d, it is said:

“Your duty is only to convey (the Message) and on Us is the reckoning.” (13: 40)

☘️Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala informed him that none would believe except for those whom He decreed happiness, and none would stray away except those for whom Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has decreed so.

☀️Do we believe in ALL that is written in The Quran; or do pick and choose what to apply in our lives and leave the rest?

🙏🏻 We ask Allah SWT to help us to accept and apply All,that is written in our lives, Aameen

📔FURTHER EXPLANATION & LESSONS
📜Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 7

📖"Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment.”

📗Khatama Allahu [خَتَمَ اللَّهُ] means, ‘Allah has sealed.’ Qatadah said that this ayah means, Shaytan controlled them when they disobeyed the Messenger ﷺ. Therefore, Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala sealed their hearts, their hearing and their sight. They could neither see the guidance nor hear or comprehend it.

📗Heart never remains in one condition, it changes with the time and circumstances, for example the dress we once liked, or the food that we once ate does not remain our favorite throughout lives. Our likes and dislikes change. It is because the  condition of our heart changes. The Prophet salAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam taught us a beautiful du’a:

يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ

🙏🏻Ya mu-qallibal quloobi thab-bit qalbee ‘alaa deenik

“O turner of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.”

📖" Allah has set a seal on their hearts,”

📗This occurs when sin resides in the heart and surrounds it from all sides, and this submersion of the heart in sin constitutes a stamp, meaning a seal. Quloob is the plural of qulb which means heart.

http://www.qtafsir.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=443&Itemid=36

📗Samm is used for ears, absar is for vision/sight and ghishawatun means veil. Their hearts are not open for the message of Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala, their eyes are covered and their ears cannot hear anything of truth.

http://www.qtafsir.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=442&Itemid=36

📗Aadabun is a mental as well as a physical punishment while  aatheemun denotes the greatness of that punishment. A big penalty they will face! It will be the similar feeling that occurs during extreme thirst and hunger. Whenever, the word Adeem is used in the Qur’an, it indicates the size and severity.

FURTHER EXPLANATION & LESSONS
Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 6-7

📗All those who refuse to accept the faith and believe in the religion of Allah and His prophets, Allah has sealed their hearts and ears and has placed a veil over their eyes.

📗And such people (Kaafir) will face serious consequences.

📗Surah Nahal ayat 106-108 states that these are the people who:
1. Give priority to this temporary world as opposed to the Hereafter
2. They are oblivious and heedless to the truth.

📗An important point to be mentioned here is that Allah states that He has sealed the heart and ears; but their eyes are not YET sealed rather the eyes have been covered by a veil. This  implies that the disbelievers still have a chance to repent and seek guidance.

📗Ears and heart perform an involuntary function. The function of the eyes can be controlled;  what we want to see and the sights we want to turn away from. It is thus in the hands of such disbelievers to open their eyes to the Truth and accept the Faith before its too late.

☀️Are we giving priority to this world or the Hereafter?
☀️Are we oblivious and heedless to the messages in The Quran?
☀️ Do we use our eyes to see and appreciate the ayahs around us?

🔮PONDER

When a person does not use any of his organ, then after some time that organ stops functioning properly. For instance, if we remain on bed and do not walk, when we will eventually get up our legs won’t be able to carry our burden when we try to stand.

Similarly, when heart, ears and eyes get used to false things, they cannot accept the truth about Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala. If a person  listens to music a lot and as he tries to leave, it becomes harder for him and his heart remains attracted towards that.

But when Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala wants to give guidance; He can open the seal and change one’s life. We should always welcome the khair, so that our hearts and mind remain open.

🙏🏻May Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala keep us away from his punishment and give us guidance (Aameen).

🙏🏻”Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing.” [Al-Baqarah 2: 127]

🔮 DEEP PONDER

📜Surah Baqarah Ayahs 6-7

"In fact, as for those who reject faith; it is the same, whether you warn them or you don't, they will not believe. Allah has sealed their hearts and their hearing, their eyes are covered, and there is a grievous punishment for them"

🔑We really need to check if we responsibly use our hearts, ears and eyes to recognize the truth, to comprehend and ponder upon the signs and verses of Allah swt. If we will not use these faculties to reflect upon the words of Allah then indeed these faculties will become useless.

🔑Also it is important to know that Allah seals our hearts only because of our continuous sinning, arrogance and ego. We should check the state of our hearts as to how much receptive it is to the truth and how much humble it is to the message of Allah swt. If we find it difficult to accept the message of Allah right away then we really need to cleanse our hearts through Quran and duas. Subhanallah, the doors of tawbah are always open (until we die).

🙏🏻May Allah make our hearts humbe and accepting.

EXPLANATION & LESSONS
Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 5

Allah SWT, said

“Those are upon guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.”

☘️Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala said those who believe in the Unseen, establish the prayer, spend from what Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala has granted them, believe in what Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala has revealed to the Messenger and the Messengers before him, believe in the Hereafter with certainty, and prepare the necessary requirements for the Hereafter by performing good deeds and avoiding the prohibitions they are:
عَلَىٰ هُدًى
“…upon [right] guidance”.
Meaning they are on a right course and have insight from Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala.

☘️About these people it was further said,
“And it is those who are the successful”.
Tafseer Surah Baqarah Verse 5
Surah Baqarah Verse 5

📚Muf’lihoon is from falah meaning success. It is not easy to be successful, success always comes after the hard work, effort and as a Muslim we believe we will get falah in the form of Jannah.
In arabic, Flaha/mufleh means farmer. It symbolizes with his hard work, that he ploughs the earth, sows the seed, gives water, looks after his crops and at the end gets fruit. Similarly, if one does great effort in this world to get the love of Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala and does this according to what is described in the Qur’an and proven by Sunnah, he will, in sha Allah, get guidance and Falah on the Day of Judgment.

☘️Guidance and Success are awarded to the Believers
Allah said,
They are [refers to those who believe in the Unseen, establish the prayer, spend from what Allah has granted them, believe in what Allah has revealed to the Messenger and the Messengers before him, believe in the Hereafter with certainty, and prepare the necessary requirements for the Hereafter by performing good deeds and avoiding the prohibitions] on guidance.

📚 This means, they are following a light, guidance, and have insight from Allah.

And they are the successful; in this world and the Hereafter. They shall have what they seek and be saved from the evil that they tried to avoid. Therefore, they will have rewards, eternal life in Paradise, and safety from the torment that Allah has prepared for His enemies.

📜 Muflihoon

📒Literal meaning:
📗Muflihoon
📗Singular= Muflih. (Faa laam haa ف.ل.ح ).
📗Falaah فلاح  means farmer, success.
📗A farmer receives his harvest after a year of stress and labor. He splits the earth, sows the seeds, takes care of crop, attains success and only then he is able to survive until the next year. He has to be there every single day without a day off.

☀️If we wish for success, then we have  put alot of hard work in understanding and living by the teaching of the Quran; following the Sunnah and doing good deeds whenever possible. We, like the farmar, have to be consistent, conscious and alert.

Surah Baqarah Ayahs 1-5

📜In Surah Fatiha, we asked Allah swt to guide us on the path to Jannah.

📜In the beginning of Surah Baqarah, Allah swt is providing us a recipe for guidance.

🔑In order to attain guidance, we need to learn this book of Allah swt which has no doubt in it.
🔑In order to attain guidance from Quran, we should develop Taqwa (fear of Allah which guides us to do those deeds which bring pleasure of Allah swt and helps us to stay away from those deeds which bring anger of Allah swt). The more taqwa we have, the more guidance we can obtain through Quran. Also for obtainig Hidayah tawfeeq (ability to implement upon the knowledge of deen), we need to attain taqwa of Allah swt. Obtaing Taqwa is not easy therefore, we need to make lots of dua for attaining taqwa.

📜 The characteristics of Muttaqeen as per these ayahs are:

☘️They have humble, accepting heart that realizes their limitations and submits to Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala by believing in the Unseen with full certainty.

☘️Muttaqeen also establish Salah perfectly which means they perform Salah regularly, in prescribed times, fulfilling all its pre-requisites, according to the way described by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, giving right to each pillar of Salah, with calmness and focus and in congregation (for men).

☘️Muttaqeen spend in the way of Allah through wealth, knowledge, efforts, money, time, talents and skills

☘️Muttaqin people believe in not only the the Quran and the Holy prophet(pbuh) but also on the meaning of Quran; as well as all that has been revealed before the Prophet – the Taurat (Torah), Injeel (Gospel) etc

☘️Indeed these are the people who are on the right path, who have received Hidayat (guidance) from the Quran and Sunnah and In Shaa Allah they will be successful (will enter Jannah).

🙏🏻 I ask Allah to make us one of the Muttaqin People, Aameen

☀️Ponder how you can work towards becoming  a Muttaqin.

Allah SWT, said

☘️"And those who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the hereafter they are certain”

📗Meaning they trust what you (Muḥammad – صلى الله عليه وسلم) have brought from Allāh; and what was brought from the Prophets and Messengers who came before you.

They do not differentiate between them, nor do they deny what they have brought them from their Lord.

🔮 DEEPER PONDER

📜 Believe In Books

The fifth requirement is that one should believe in the Books revealed by God to His Prophets in the various ages and regions of the world, in the Book revealed to Muhammad (peace be on him) as well as in those revealed to the other Prophets who preceded him. The door of the Qur'an is closed to all those who do not consider it necessary for man to receive guidance from God. It is also closed to those who, even if they believe in the need for such guidance, do not consider it necessary to seek it through the channel of revelation and prophethood, but would rather weave their own set of ideas and concepts and regard them as equivalent to Divine Guidance.

This door is also closed to those who believe in Divine books as such, but confine this belief to those books accepted by their forefathers, and spurn Divine Guidance revealed to anyone born beyond their own racial and national boundaries.

The Qur'an excludes all such people and is prepared to open the source of its grace only to those who believe that mankind does require Divine Guidance, who acknowledge that this guidance does not come to people individually but reaches them through Prophets and Divine Books and who are not given to racial or national chauvinism but are devotees of Truth alone, and are therefore prepared to submit to Divine Guidance wherever it be found.

🙏🏻 I ask Allah SWT to help us appreciate the deep Knowledge and Wisdom in The Books which he has revealed; and implement the lessons in our lifes, Aameen

☀️What is your attitude towards all Books revealed by Allah SWT?

🔮 DEEPER PONDER

📜 Al-Akhirah

Belief in the After-life is the sixth and last requirement. The term al-Akhirah embraces a whole set of ideas: (i) that man is not an irresponsible being, but is answerable to God for all his conduct in this world; (ii) that the present order of the world is not timeless, but will come to an end at an appointed hour known only to God; (iii) that when this world comes to an end God will bring into being another world in which He will resurrect, at one and the same moment, all the human beings ever born on earth. He will gather them together, examine their conduct and grant each one just reward for his actions; (iv) that those who are accounted good in God's judgement will be sent to Heaven, and those judged by Him as evil-doers will be consigned to Hell; (v) that the real measure of success and failure is not one's prosperity in the present life, but one's success or failure according to God's judgement in the Next.

Those who do not accept this set of beliefs can derive no benefit from the Qur'an. For if a man is merely in a state of doubt and hesitation with regard to these matters - let alone disbelieving them - he cannot advance even one step forward along the path charted out by the Qur'an.

🙏🏻 I ask Allah SWT to help us prepare for Al-Akhirah in a manner that will take us to Heaven without any reckoning, Aameen

☀️Again the key 🔑 to advance along the path charted out by the Qu'ran is by Learning

Mard Sirf Jeans Skirt hi nahi Nakab wali Auraton ko bhi Ghoorte hai.

Aurat Ki Izzat Aurat ne hi lutwai hai.
